 横浜市中区は、関内、伊勢佐木、本牧の三地区を有するため、夜間人口より昼間人口が遥かに多く、歴史的にも、外国籍の居住の割合が、住民の10％を越え、所謂、国際都市、横浜の中心地にあり、国別数では、50ヶ国を越える方々が、医療施設を利用されております。
勤務医と診療所の医師とが、互いに協力して、第一次、第二次医療、高度医療を分担することが、この地域の医療を円滑に行うために大切であります。
勤務医の方々にも、医師会の役員として参加して頂き、また有床の病院持ち回りで、症例検討会や講演会等を頻回に開催し、病院と診療所の連携と融和を図り、また医師自らの研修に遭遇しております。
 医師会員は、自らの所属する医療だけでなく、夜間急病センター、休日急患診療所の当直や、福祉保険センター（旧保健所）の主催する健康相談、予防接種、講演会への協力、或いは、学校医、幼稚園医、地域ケアセンターの協力医、介護認定審査会の委員として、地域医療の重責を任っています。
老齢人口が多いことに鑑み、医療センター訪問看護ステーション、ヘルパーステーション、居宅支援センターを開設しており、区医師会としては、最大級のスタッフにて対応し、質の高い介護の実践を目指しています。
地域医療は、医師会員の努力だけでは、充分その主旨が達成できませんので、是非、地域の皆様の協力の下、ご一緒に歩を進めてまいりたいと願っております。

 Nakaku Medical Association is a branch function of Yokohama Medical Association composed of 3300 members. Nakaku Medical Association is one of the largest branch with more than 270 members and a long history with registration of 150 clinic doctors and 100 doctors working at hospitals.
 Nakaku Yokohama, covering Kanai, Isezaki and Honmoku area, has a large day time population versus its night time population. Located at the center of Yokohama and with more than 10% of its population composed of foreigners, people from more than 50 different countries visit our medical facilities.
 It is important for doctors working for hospitals and doctors running their own clinic to work together to establish primary, secondary and high level medical service.
Participation of doctors working at hospitals as officers of Medical Associations is encouraged. Conduction of frequent lectures and case studies is also encouraged with inpatient hospitals taking turns to host these events with aim to establish relations between clinics and hospitals and also to provide opportunities for education of doctors.
